Everyday I feel beyond grateful I get to work in a field that is inspiring, motivating, and I can define as my personal passion. I have found such beauty when collaborating with my clients to help them find their true meaning and purpose in life. I believe working through and moving through past trauma and conflicts can help achieve anyone’s full potential and personal goals. Therapy, although can be challenging and exhausting, is one of the most rewarding, life-changing, and positive experiences a person can be part of.
I am a person full of empathy, compassion, and is commitment to helping others no matter what walk of life they come from or what experiences they might have endured. I use a genuine and caring approach to help my clients not only understand themselves better, but to assist them to see their potential and that they can yes, truly heal from their past and reach their mental and emotional potential.
Professionally, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a National Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist. I use a client-centered, trauma-informed style approach working with models from Internal Family System, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Comprehensive Resource Model, and EMDR. I am especially passionate about providing care for perinatal mental health disorders including woman and partners who have struggled with infertility, pregnancy, and/or postpartum and the hardships and traumas that care arise. I continue to strive to increase my overall knowledge and receive trainings related to trauma-related care and perinatal disorders.
Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work as an occupational therapist in the geriatric setting working with neurocognitive disorders along with working with children with autism and sensory processing disorders. As a mental health clinician, I have worked within the field of corrections and forensics providing both group and individual therapy to individuals who struggle with mental health disorders and substance abuse disorders. I have worked with a vast majority of different diagnoses including running a dual diagnosis program working with people who have sustained substance abuse disorders and complex trauma. I have experience in crisis work, diagnostic assessments, and am EMDR trained. I am also an adjunct professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in the Forensic Psychology program.
In my personal life, I am a wife, mother, sister, coach, and outdoor lover.
I hope to get the honor to walk with you side by side in your mental health journey to reach a sense of freedom, recovery, and peace.
