EMDR

What is EMDR therapy?

It’s weird, but it works!

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a type of therapy that helps people heal from their traumas and disturbing life experiences. It gets people UNSTUCK.

Who can it help?

It can help anyone who is experiencing the following….

  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Fear of public speaking
  • Anger
  • Painful memories
  • Fear of conflict
  • Self-doubt
  • Confidence
  • Relationship problems
  • Insecurities
  • Bad habits
  • Time management

Why EMDR? It’s a brain thing.

When we have experiences that are too much for our brains to process, our memory gets stuck. These negative experiences can be triggered by body sensations, emotions, negative beliefs, images, sounds, smells, and even tastes.

This means you may experience nightmares, flashbacks, panic, shutting down, and fear. You might wake up with your jaw clenching, feel heaviness in your chest, or have digestive issues.

EMDR targets the brain and nervous system. It taps into the brain’s natural healing process to permanently resolve problem. YES, PERMANENTLY.

Research is showing us that it is not enough just to talk about it.

How does it work?

During EMDR, you will bring the memory forward, while performing some form of dual attention stimulation, which just means eye movements, pulsars, tones through headphones, or body movements like marching.

This process allows the brain and nervous system to successfully reprocess information and reduce the vividness, body sensations, and emotional intensity. This results in a shift in the negative belief.

The results are PEACE, FULLFILLMENT, and FREEDOM.
