Working as a clinical social worker I see children, individuals and families affected by trauma that is both deeply challenging and profoundly meaningful. Each day, I walk alongside individuals whose stories are often marked by pain, abuse, neglect, loss, violence, but also by resilience and the potential for healing. My role is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can begin to process overwhelming experiences that often surpass their ability to understand or verbalize. Trauma can show up in many ways: through behavior, silence, anxiety, or even physical symptoms.
I draw from evidence-based practices including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, Solution- Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and attachment-based models, but every session is ultimately guided by the human connection.
I acknowledge both the pain and the potential individuals experience. It demands emotional presence, cultural humility, and a commitment to advocating for systems that too often fail the most vulnerable.
