Jennifer Cote, LMHC

My journey in the helping field was like many others. I wanted a better understanding of how and why my own life was chaotic, confusing and sometimes scary. In high school I took my first Psychology class and became enamored with the field. I found a deep love and connection to people who are struggling and searching for their own understanding.

There are times in our lives when we know who we are, and what we want, and then, there are times when we feel lost, confused and without direction or purpose. In those times of transition, it can make a large impact to have someone as a guidepost and witness while you redefine yourself. I am a person who is compassionate, empathetic and committed to joining clients in their experience. I use genuineness and integrity to create space with clients to explore the areas of their lives that they seek to transform.

Professionally I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Substance Use Disorder Professional. I have worked with clients in the public-school settings, corrections, inpatient treatment, and in the individual setting. During that time, I came to realize that though we may not all have the same stories, we share the flavor of many of our experiences. As a professional, my goal is to help people find their strength, purpose and direction while managing day-to-day adversity and stress.

I gained my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University in 2016 and certified as a complex trauma therapist in 2020. My approach is practical and eclectic as I utilize person-centered therapy while integrating interventions from CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, Internal Family Stems theory, neuropsychology, and somatic therapies. Together, we can work towards increasing quality of life and building a life that is worth living.

In my personal life I am a mother, partner, and enjoy adventure and travel.

I hope to have the pleasure to join you in your quest for transformation and healing.
