Mikayla Gaouette, LMHCA

Headshot of Chantel HayesMy approach to therapy is rooted in a holistic perspective that honors the whole person. I believe we are more than our symptoms or struggles, we are individuals whose story continuously unfolds amidst what life throws our way. In our work together we will look at the full picture including your thoughts, past experiences, emotions, habits, environment, and the quiet beliefs that shape your inner world.

From a young age, I felt called to help others. After graduating I became committed to using both my professional training and lived experiences to support individuals who may feel uncertain about where to begin their healing journey. Through my lived experiences they have shown me firsthand how deeply any type of experience can impact a person – mentally, physically, and emotionally.

A quote that continues to guide my work comes from Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros: “We don’t get to choose if we get hurt in this life, but we do get to choose who we become because of it.” This belief emphasizes my dedication to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can show up as their authentic selves, without the need to pretend or perform.

I do not view people as defined solely by their current struggles. Instead, I approach therapy through the lens of lived experiences, helping clients reflect on the past to better understand the present and move toward a future that feels aligned , intentional, and meaningful. While we make space for the heaviness that life can bring, I also believe in celebrating growth by honoring progress, resilience and the milestones reached along the way.
