My family moved to the Puget Sound area in 2018. Before living in Washington, we were in Tennessee, where I attended Austin Peay State University, and began my career in the mental health field. After moving to a new place for a second time via the military, I experienced some difficulty adjusting to a new environment and sought out counseling. After this impactful experience, I decided to seek a career as a therapist and provide others with the attentive, genuine, warm treatment that was given to me. Most of us have experienced trauma in our lives whether it be in our childhood or adulthood. students. As a human in our society, trauma is unavoidable. What’s worse than experiencing trauma is getting stuck and rendering our lives to it. We sometimes find ourselves in a place where we don’t know why we do what we do, and we feel powerless to change it despite our best desires and efforts. I believe in person-centered therapy and that the individual is the driving force in their treatment. I’m there to provide a guiding hand and accompany you through this journey.
Being there for one another is a necessity in humanity and that is the driving force behind why I do what I do. Characteristics that I value are open-mindedness empathy positivity and warmth. I strive to incorporate those qualities into my practice. I have experience in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and Solution Focused Therapy.
I’m excited to begin my career in this field and look forward to working with individuals, couples, and families who are ready to make lasting changes in their lives.
In my personal life, I’m a wife and mother to two wonderful children. We enjoy being outdoors, drive-in movies, traveling, and barbequing.
